Liability Waiver Releasing Mendota Rowing Club from Any Claims for Damage or Injury (updated May 20, 2016)
1. I do hereby release The Mendota Rowing Club, Inc., its employees and its representatives from any and all claims for damages and injuries resulting from participation in The Mendota Rowing Club, Inc. activities. I hereby assume the risk personally for any injuries or losses which I may sustain.
2. I
further understand that rowing activities are highly stressful physically and
contain an element of risk -- in consideration of these facts I certify
that I am in good physical shape and able to pass the Mendota Rowing Club swim
test (swim 5 minutes, stay afloat
for 10 inutes), and will obey all safety rules established by Mendota Rowing
Club. If I need a flotation device to
pass the Mendota Rowing Club swim test, I will wear that device when in a boat
and I hereby assume the risk personally for any injuries or losses which I
may sustain as result of my inability to pass a swim test without a flotation
device.
3. I have read, understand and will abide by the Mendota Rowing Club Rules and Equipment Handling Guidelines.
4. I also understand that individual members of Mendota Rowing Club may be held personally responsible for damage to or theft of the boats and equipment caused primarily by the negligence or carelessness of said member(s) and will reimburse Mendota Rowing Club for such loss or repair to the satisfaction of the Rowing Club Board of Directors.
5. Only Users as defined by the Bylaws are allowed to use Mendota Rowing Club facilities and equipment and only those members who have evidenced their rowing ability and skills to the satisfaction of the MRC Board of Directors will be allowed to use the Boats.
6. I grant permission for photo images of me to be used in any promotional or fundraising materials produced by Mendota Rowing Club.
